Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies & Hotel Vermont Present: Female Founders Speakers Series Event #3: Makers Matter

Mon, Mar 12, 2018 at 5:30pm

This event has passed.

Our third event of Season Two features female entrepreneurs from creative industries. Our speakers for this event include Sarah Beal, founder of Common Deer, Tessa Valyou, founder of New Duds, Britt Witt, founder of Red House VT, and Jennifer Kahn, founder of Jennifer Kahn Jewelry.

Celebrating female entrepreneurs from around the state, Event Three will shed light on what it takes to start a company from the ground up. Each speaker will share the story of their business, including what it took to get started, lessons learned, and where they hope to go in the future.

Last year’s events saw over 400 attendees and raised over $5,000 for some of VT’s most vital non-profits. The first event of the Season, on November 29th, featured Donna Carpenter and the women leaders of Burton speaking about Building a Global Brand in Vermont. The second event of the season, on January 22nd, featured Kate Williams, CEO of 1% for the Planet and co-founder of Vermont Yak Company, Montana Burns, founder of Atlas Acupuncture, Madga Van Dusen, co-founder of Brio Coffeeworks and Akshata Nayak, founder of OrangeOwl.

These events feature remarkable speakers from unique industries, as well as appetizers, cash bar, and unparalleled networking opportunities.

The cost of the event is $15 per person, and 100% of proceeds for the series will benefit Vermont Works for Women, which “helps women and girls recognize their potential and explore, pursue, and excel in work that leads to economic independence.”

All are welcome, but tickets are limited so interested parties are encouraged to secure their tickets ASAP!
